Following are some examples of my writing for various projects. There are papers from classes, extracurricular activities, and some independent writing. All of this was done since I started college. Almost all of these pieces are in Adobe Acrobat format as PDFs.
Pushing Pixels: Design of a Useful Web Site - This is my thesis. It is a book about the design of a web site from the beginning to the end. I used to work at the University Honors College at Oregon State University. It was my job to redesign and rebuild the UHC web site. I did a lot of research, a lot of experimentation, and a lot of work to get it to look and work the way it does. I used web standards as much as I could, I used CSS for presentation, I tested in a bunch of browsers. When it came to writing my thesis, this was a natural topic for me. I threw together this document in only 10 weeks, but I think it’s a great resource, and still relevant 2 years later (which is a long time in the web world).
High Tech Farming for High Yields Farm Technology: A Double Edged Scythe- Introduction to farm technology and its applications in the farming industry. A research paper written for my Information Security and Cryptography class, and formatted specifically for placement in a journal. It’s only a paper for a class, so it’s not researched or prepared nearly as much as a real journal article, but it was good practice.
Interfacing a Hard Drive with the FAT32 File System - White paper for my senior design project (see projects page). An introduction to the FAT32 file system at the lowest level. I actually had to write code to interface with a hard drive at the byte level. It was very difficult, and I learned FAT32 backwards and forwards.
Proposal for Sponsorship - A short proposal written to attract funding for our senior project (it worked).
Physics journal articles - (1) (2) (3) - Three short journal articles for my physics classes written in the style of a journal article. This was during my freshman and sophomore years.

Toilet Tidbits archive - (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) (7) (8) (9) (10) (11) (12) (13) (14) (15) (manual) - As President of my Residence Hall, I put out a weekly newsletter in the bathrooms of the hall. It actually had a readership of a few hundred, and was very well received. I learned a lot about weekly distribution and the readership, so the evolution of the paper is quite apparent.

The Chronicle–The Chronicle is the OSU Honors College triennial publication. My job was laying out the entire magazine-a monumental time consuming effort. UHC Chronicle - I did all the layout for the University Honors College student magazine for three years. Here are seven issues that I have done:
